This should either fell the tree or free up the other wedge. Start a bore cut at the normal level for a back cut, again using the lower quadrant of the bar. Bore straight in, leaving enough hinge wood for the size of the tree.
Any ideas of how I can do this safely and the risks I face attempting this would be helpful.
Walk the saw back, cutting approximately half the tree and leaving sufficient holding wood in back. Repeat the procedure on the opposite side. Use a release cut from the back treegrind.barg: reverse curve. Felling a tree in the opposite direction is not just challenging but can be interesting as well. Inevitably, there is a right way and a wrong way to go about doing this task.
And with a little bit of required knowledge and the right tools, you can successfully cut a leaning tree in the opposite treegrind.barted Reading Time: 6 mins.
May 05, Felling curved and/or leaning trees can be a tricky endeavor, depending on the size of the tree. Scotty Overkill, May 5, This tree also has a curve in the trunk so that must affect the balance of the tree. Kimberly, May 5, #19 Top. blacksmith. In the following video, you can learn proper methods for creating different notches and techniques for maintaining a correct hinge so that you will fell a tree.
